I do not paint images with the purpose of making people feel good. This isn't to say I want my paintings to make people feel bad necessarily, but I'd like them to consider it. I want them to look at each piece and enjoy looking for simple, visually aesthetic reasons, but at the same time I want them to get a nagging sense of eeriness that the pretty colors and pleasant curves don't offer enough distraction to ignore.
